AI Image Authenticity Checker Detect. Analyze. Verify.

Help people understand whether an image is AI-generated, manipulated or supported by verifiable authenticity information.

AI signalA probabilistic estimate built from provenance, metadata, forensics and any enabled detector. It is not proof either way.

—

Upload an image to see the AI signal.

Results are probabilistic and can be wrong, especially for screenshots and re-compressed images.

MetadataTechnical details read from the file. Metadata is easy to remove or fake, so it is only one signal.

Source checkWhere an image came from matters as much as how it looks. These checks help you trace it.

Needs reviewVisual details worth a closer look. Rows marked "Possible signal" are heuristics, not conclusions.

        Scan history

Stored only in this browser: a 320 px thumbnail, file name, time and report. Up to 30 items. Full-size images are never kept.

          No scans yet.

          How the checker works

          1. Read the file

Metadata, generator tags and Content Credentials (C2PA) are read locally in your browser.

          2. Run forensics

A background worker measures compression, noise and sharpness patterns on a downscaled copy.

          3. Weigh the evidence

Strong and weak signals are combined into Low, Medium or High, with a plain-English reason. Read the details.

          What the AI signal means

          Low

Little evidence of AI generation was found. This is not a guarantee: edits and re-saves can remove traces.

          Medium

Evidence is weak, missing or conflicting. Common for images shared on social media.

          High

Strong evidence exists, such as a generator tag, valid AI Content Credentials or a detector result.

          FAQ

Can this tool tell me for certain if an image is AI-generated?

No. No tool can. The checker combines several weak and strong signals into an "AI signal" of Low, Medium or High. The result is probabilistic and can be wrong, especially for screenshots, heavily edited images and re-compressed images.

Is my image uploaded to a server?

Not by default. The analysis runs in your browser and the image is never stored on our server. An optional "Enhanced server check" (off by default, and only shown when the site owner has configured it) sends the image for analysis; it is processed in memory and not stored.

What does a Low, Medium or High AI signal mean?

Low means we found little evidence of AI generation. Medium means the evidence is weak, missing or conflicting. High means strong evidence, such as a generator tag in the metadata, valid Content Credentials that declare AI generation, or a detector that reports a high likelihood. None of them is proof either way.

Why does it say "Not enough evidence"?

Most images shared online have had their metadata stripped and have been re-compressed. When there is nothing reliable to measure, the honest answer is Medium with a clear reason, not a guess.
